OCPS has over 200,000 Students and the experience Kyle has working with groups of this size with big budgets will serve him well. See below to find out more about Kyle's experience.
Kyle's Degree was focused on health and wellness of kids under the age of 18. It was a program with an emphasis on the positive impact that sports can have on kids. His degree is from the Patton College of Education at Ohio University.
Transportation is a pressing issue in Orange County, particularly due to a shortage of bus drivers. Retrofitting the bus fleet to allow non-CDL drivers might not be a feasible solution for two reasons. First, parents are concerned about maintaining high standards for drivers responsible for transporting their children. Second, retrofitting the entire fleet would be a costly endeavor.
One potential solution to address the shortage of bus drivers is for OCPS to focus on expanding CDL training programs. By investing in the training and recruitment of quality drivers, OCPS can ensure that their transportation services meet the necessary standards while also increasing the pool of available drivers. This approach could help alleviate the current shortage and improve the overall transportation situation in Orange County.
Kyle helped to structure a partnership that allowed 300,000+ Students to learn about the academic requirements for College Athletics. This program also connected the Student-Athletes with College Coaches. Kyle was also in charge of running the Presidential Youth Fitness Program, otherwise known as PYFP. Many of you may have participated in this program in the past (Pacer Test and PYFP Patches for completing the program). Kyle and his team were able to develop a remote learning-based exercise program that children and families were able to use during the pandemic. This program is still active in 6,000+ schools nationwide.
After graduating, Kyle acquired a variety of classroom experiences in the public education system, ranging from long-term substitute teaching to coaching a JV Basketball team. At that time, Kyle was able to work across different departments and learn from veteran teachers. Kyle has a deep compassion for teachers and all they do for kids.
